AKA Sydney to Melbourne I
Taken on a Sydney to Melbourne Flight, on a Sunday afternoon. Pretty good considering how scratchy the plane window was. Done as part of the 100 theme challenge [link] Comments
Thats a really breathtaking image
-- Kind regards, Frank Enjoy my last News Article 'Finest Macro, Nature and Invertebrates in Squares' That would be awesome to do
-- And the clarity, holy wow! I can see every little bump, light, and wrinkle in the clouds, even as they disappear into the distance. This isn't a lazy camera shot, that's for sure. Lastly, the way the sun hits the clouds and leaves a heavy drop shadow towards the right makes it almost feel like I could step onto them and run off. Not much critique for this one here. It's nothing new, but it's well-done. -- Por favor, háblenme en español. Quiero mejorar. |

Although I realize you have very little control over the composition in this kind of situation, it would have been better if you had been a little more conscious of it. I think adjusting the angle of the camera would have made a world of difference in both composition and exposure. Was your main focus the clouds below or the sky above? Even though you're high in the air, there is still a clearly-defined horizon, and it's a little too close to the dead center for comfort. if your main focus was the sky above, the horizon should have been in the bottom third of the composition. If it was meant to be the clouds below, the horizon should have been higher (in the top third). Also, impurities in the fuselage glass combined with haze and pollutants in the atmosphere have given this a browned-out look. I think this would be much better without that look. You can still fix this - just adjust the color balance a little or adjust the red and green channels and take away some of that brown (it makes your sky look almost green).
Incredibly breathtaking shot.
